MSEA President: Ken Moore
As MSEA President, I will develop the essential tools needed for my administration to be proactive. A priority is to create a network of communication with our union officers and members. The reward will be building UNITY and strength to face the Employer. I will continue my commitment to address the issue of the Employer's creative downsizing tactics.
I will also strive to open up communication throughout MSEA--from the President of MSEA to the dues-paying brothers and sisters at the work sites. I will build transparency and integrity in serving our MSEA brothers and sisters.  I will continue my commitment to Positive Change in serving the membership. MSEA will be a unified force for the 21st Century!

MSEA Vice President: Donna Spenner
I am honored to be re-elected as MSEA Vice President! I have been an MSEA member and have worked with MDOT for 23 years.  My goal is to use the structure MSEA has in place with its Board of Directors, Department Spokespersons, and Committees to the fullest extent set forth by our Constitution and Board Policies. All members will be treated as equals in all matters of business.
Those members elected to office should always lead by example.  I will work hard for the membership, and will stay honest, trustworthy and transparent. I want to make sure we increase our membership, educate the membership as a whole and keep communication at all levels open. I promise to be available at all times to serve MSEA members.

MSEA Secretary: Russell G. Waters
It is my privilege to again serve as MSEA State Secretary. I previously served in this capacity for two terms of office from July 2006 to July 2010 and chose not to run for re-election, but instead, was elected Region VI Director. I was appointed by the President and Board of Directors to fill the Secretary vacancy created on January 22, 2011.
My full-time job is a Storekeeper 7 with the Warehouse Services Section of DTMB in the General Services Building at the State Secondary Complex just outside Lansing. My part-time work is with MSEA. I started with DTMB in 1977 before we had collective bargaining and began attending MSEA meetings in 1980 when the first contract was being negotiated. In 1981, I became the first chief steward in any department, in any bargaining unit at the Secondary Complex. In 1983, when MSEA had 26,000 members and Region VI had 7,000 members, I was elected Alternate Region Director and later became Region Director after the loss of our two largest units to a competing union. I have not served continuously as a steward or a board member since then, but have always played an active role in the union by attending meetings, serving on committees and at General Assembly. I have strong working relationships with President Moore, Vice President Spenner, Treasurer Schutt and the Board of Directors.
We are facing the most severe attacks from politicians and the press ever...attacks against unions, working people, seniors, students and the disadvantaged. MSEA needs to respond--and is responding--strongly. We also need the membership to become more politically aware, astute and active. Political representation is just as important as contract representation. There are political factions with an agenda that would greatly restrict any public sector union from the administration of traditional labor relations activities including representation of members with their respective employers. Union Brothers and Sisters, PLEASE STAND STRONG!

MSEA Treasurer: Tim Schutt
I have been an active member for 10 years. I am also currently MDOT Spokesperson and Chief Steward. I serve on the Finance and Operations Committee, on the Audit Committee and on the MDOT Secondary Negotiating Team. My goal is to provide transparency and protect our assets.
